Here at Yes!Paws Academy we know that every dog is different, genetically, and how they all have been raised. With that in mind, we tailor our training to each individual dog with a Reward Based Balanced Training style. We like to focus not just on training your dog, but also training you. By including you in the training, this allows you to have solid understanding of what your dog is learning.
Foundations are what everything is built on, so that’s what we start with. Using rewards and positive reinforcement, we will teach your dog all of their behaviors and commands. We don’t work for free, so neither should your dog! This could be done with whatever is reinforcing to your dog; treats, praise, affection, toys, etc. If we feel your dog would benefit from it, we may also implement the use of various training collars. Once they have a solid understanding in and around the home, we will go on numerous field trips outside of the home to ensure they become a well rounded dog.
Our main goal when training you and your dog is to help you have a happy, healthy, well-mannered family member that you can trust will listen to you! You will still have your goofy and loving dog at the end, just more obedient!

Originally from Battle Ground, Washington, Jenna’s love for dogs grew when she was just a little girl. Any chance she had she would try to rescue animals, walk neighbors dogs, or play with her own family’s pets. Growing up with Akitas and Australian Cattle Dogs, she learned a lot about dog training, body language, and good genetics. Jenna's interest in dog training began with observing her mom practicing training techniques with their dog Koda. Koda was an Akita who had multiple behavioral issues including aggression with dogs and people, poor leash manners, and high prey drive. Together with many trials and errors, Jenna and her mom trained her to be neutral and tolerant.
Jenna's first job was working at a dog training and boarding kennel. She originally got hired as a kennel tech, but soon had the opportunity to assist with training. From there, she volunteered with Northwest Battle Buddies, a nonprofit organization for Service Dogs. Following this, she worked at a pet store while attending college where she earned her Associates Degree in general studies.
After all of these experiences, the real fun began in Jenna's dog training journey. At 20 years old she attended an intensive six day dog training shadow program. Immediately after finishing the shadow program she began putting things into action. Jenna took it upon herself to train family's, friend's, and friends of friends' dogs. A couple months after the program she started a new job as a dog trainer, where she learned different training techniques. In 2019 she completed a 12 Week 450 hour immersive course, graduating as a Canine Professional Dog Trainer. In 2020 Jenna moved to Idaho to continue growing in her dog training career. She trained hundreds of dogs and helped countless owners, while further developing her knowledge as a dog trainer. Using her knowledge and exepreinces, Jenna created her own curriculum for Yes!Paws Academy.
When Jenna is not training she enjoys going on hikes and adventuring, camping, competing in dog sports, and enjoying time with her family. Jenna now lives in Nampa ID with her Husband Dallin, their daughter Nyah, two dogs Dean and Toby, and her cat Oliver.
